My Treatment Progress

Current Status – 8/9/2016

Currently on a dual infusion treatment Ipi/Nivolumab.  Will be evaluating options after issues with side effects.

Clinical trial cycle 2 began -- CT scans show tumor shrinkage

Clinical trial tests - two biopsies, ECG, labs, eye exam

Started the clinical trial

Clinical Trial Screening for final approval into trial

Doctors found me an opening in a new clinical trial at Moffitt

6/18/2013
CT Scans of entire body performed showing tumor growth

Lip surgery to remove infection

CT Scans of entire body performed

MRI of brain performed due to continued dizziness. Results came back clear.

Diagnosed with having ipilimumab (Yervoy) drug-induced hepatitis, prescribed prednisone

High fever and night chills presented after third infusion – prescribed a Z-PAK


4/1/2013
Third infusion of Yervoy, still not taking Zelboraf pills


3/19/2013
Developed a rash and was taken off of Zelboraf.

Second infusion of Yervoy

First infusion of Yervoy. Continued taking Zelboraf pills as well.


01/28/2013
Face swelling and intense burns presented after spending time out in the sun for a short amount of time. Prescribed steroids for the swelling and taken of Zelboraf for 2 days.

CT Scans showed a 4cm mass, and Yervoy was presented as another option for treatment.  Signed paperwork to get the Yervoy treatment started and was directed to continue Zelboraf at full dosage as well.


01/18/2013
CT of chest for further treatment plans.


01/17/2013
Presented new lump on anterior chest wall that was not noticeable before. Set up for CT scan for the following day.

Zelboraf dosage increased to full dosage (8 pills per day)


12/17/2012
Zelboraf dosage increased to 6 pills per day


12/04/2012
Oncologist decided to start back on Zelboraf at 4 pills per day.


11/26/2012
Appointment at Moffitt with Dr. D. Continued to taper of steroid treatment for rash and continue to postpone resuming Zelboraf.


11/24/2012
Discharged from the Moffitt DRC to continue recovering at home.  Taken off of Zelboraf treatment temporarily.


11/23/2012
Had an allergic reaction to the Zelboraf which included a full body rash, itching, and swollen lips and was admitted to the Moffitt DRC for overnight observation and treatment.


11/14/2012
Officially started taking Zelboraf at the 8 pill dosage.


11/06/2012
Found out the Melanoma was BRAF mutated metastatic melanoma and had the orders placed to order the Zelboraf treatment.


10/18/2012
Meet with Dr. D at Moffitt Cancer Center for an initial treatment plan. An ultrasound of the affected area was ordered and the BRAF mutation test was ordered.


10/08/2012
Large left axillary mass was resected at St. Joseph’s Hospital

 

Drug Reactions


Zelboraf:


Rash, face swelling, course skin, developed nodules in legs came and went, joint pain in fingers and legs, intense skin sensitivity to the sun, hair loss


Yervoy:


Fatigue, nausea, hair loss, drug-induced hepatitis, fever, chills
